We work with city representatives and community organizations such as the District 10 Leadership Coalition to ensure our neighborhood is kept abreast of City of San Jose and Santa Clara County news or actions potentially affecting us. We also work with city officials to sponsor beautification, public safety, and other events benefiting our neighborhood.

May 16-17-18, 2025
Back by popular demand, our Orchard Creek Team is working to bring back our own Orchard Creek Multi-Family Garage Sale Weekend. It's time to clean out those closets and garage to market still useful items to others. We'll be delivering details door to door the end of February. Watch for this important notice.
Garage Sale Tips
Things to consider when joining this garage sale event:
You do not have to sign up for anything or make any commitment.
You do not have to participate all three days.
The sale will be advertized on Nextdoor Almaden, and Craig's List, and a lot of signage in the neighborhood and on Almaden Expressway.
What is your goal? Are you wamting to get rid of things, or perhaps to make some money?
Consider not putting labels amd dollar amounts on each item. It is easier for you to allow people to make an offer and you can always refuse.
The start time is 8:00 am, but some professional shoppers show up much earlier.
You can keep your garage door closed and just sell items on the driveway.
Have a "cash box" available in a protected place.
Have change available, coins amd dollars up to $20's.
Do not accept checks as payment.
Have a Counterfeit Detector Pen availabe to check $20-$100's. (Available at stationary stores.)
It is helpful if you have some bags available for people purchasing items.
Consider selling water and sodas.
If you have any questions or need help, ask Skippi at 7183 Anjou Creek Circle or email questions to orchardcreekneighbors@gmail.com and we will forward your message to Skippi.
(Other places to dispose of things not sold are Savers, Goodwill, United Way, Salvation Army, and of course, our

Community Emergency Response Information
We had an excellent presentation from Lee Steckmest who gave out important information to help us to understand how important it is to be prepared and different approaches to get there. We learned that it begins with neighbors helping neighbors and we hope to repeat this informative talk again in the future. The City of San Jose supported this event by donating seven Emergency Backpacks that were raffled off to the attendees.
DUMPSTER DAY EVENT
For the second year, Orchard Creek worked with the Mayor, Matt Mahan's office, TogetherSJ, and our own District 10 Councilman, Arjun Batra, to put together another successful Dumpster Day for our Orchard Creek neighbors! This is a huge favorite of our residents and we hope to sponsor another one in 2025!
ORCHARD CREEK ENTRANCE CLEAN UP
The same weekend we held the Dumpster Day event, a hard-working group of your neighbors picked up weed whackers, shovels, rakes and bins to clear debris and clean up our sadly dilapidated entrance at McIntosh Drive! The TogetherSJ project in the mayor’s office also helped us out by purchasing a mountain of mulch which we gladly spread over the entire area. Thank you, OC neighbors!!!
